More spice than you can shake a stick at here in The Spice Shop, a mainstay of Notting Hill since the 1990s which started as a market stall. The owner has published her own book, Barbecue, which she describes as 'fire-powered'. As well as the staples you would expect, they have an astounding variety of more esoteric spices, with 13 different kinds of paprika alone, and you can order online if you don't feel like carrying your spices through the crowds of Notting Hill – a pity in some ways, as browsing here and turning up something new is all part of the fun.
