Lane's of London
140 Park Lane W1K 7AA
Opened in 2014, this ambitious Park Lane posh tapas-style eatery aims to offer the 'Best of London under one roof'. It is certainly eclectic, with the themed menu flying from Brick Lane and Edgeware Road and on to Kingsland Road and Portobello Road. While more than one food critic has bemoaned this attempt to be all things to all people, when it works it actually work quite brilliantly. The Vietnamese Pho Bo may be a little limp, but the beef brisket sliders are spot-on, gorgeous hunks of slow-cooked beef served with roast bonemarrow and horseradish cream. Other highlights include their delicious take on Scotch Eggs and cider mussels that come laced with bacon and wild mushrooms. Yo can also enjoy a cocktail in this classy speakeasy-style oasis beforehand, and the nice thing is you can eat as much or as little as you like. One lane of London well worth exploring – and not as pricey as you think.
