This highly regarded educational zoo houses more than 250 exotic and endangered species in a variety of spacious enclosures. It’s divided geographically or by habitat – make sure you visit the Roof of the World, which mimics the Himalayan habitat of snow leopards, and Life in the Trees, where you can watch a family of siamang gibbons from a viewing platform across a moat. Its a pleasant zoo that avoids many of the bells, whistles and lively leisure facilities of most in favour of offering a more natural environment foucusing on conservation and education.
