It's hostelling but not as we know it Jim... Yes, if you're thinking about taking yourself off for a long weekend in Manchester you could do worse than hole up in this purpose-built modern hostel just ten minutes or so outside the city centre. The YHA really launched their portofolio of hostels into the 21st century when they opened this canalside complex in the mid-1990s. Its 152 rooms come in a variety of shapes and sizes, but the bottom line is this is one of the best budget overnight stays in the city, with a choice of two-, three-, four- or five-bedded rooms, all of them en-suite, so it's perfect for families, groups of friends or just couples. There is a café and licensed bar, restaurant, TV room, games room; parking and wifi are free – and it's that rare beast among hostels in that its reception is open 24 hours so you can really make the most of the Manchester nightlife. It's also handy for iconic Manchester attractions like Old Trafford, the National Cycling Centre and the Lowry.

The Owner Says
Manchester has something for everyone, the world’s most famous football team, the best music, vibrant nightlife, shopping, culture and industrial heritage to name a few.
Located in one of the countries first urban heritage parks (Castlefield) YHA Manchester is just a short walk from the city centre. We are blessed with fantastic views of the Rochdale and Bridgewater canals, Victorian railway bridges and “friendly” local geese.
A youth hostel but not as you know it. All YHA Manchester’s rooms are no bigger than 6 beds and are all en-suite. We have a lovely café bar with a tasty selection of drinks, food and yummy homemade cakes. Our friendly staff are on hand 24 hours a day and are always keen to share their knowledge and passion for Manchester.
So if you’re in town to walk in Morrissey’s footsteps, to party all night, for the love of the “beautiful game”, for retail therapy, tosee the birthplace of feminism, vegetarianism, computers, the industrial revolution and much more, or just passing through, we’re here to help and provide the ideal base for your urban adventures.
