Helpful, friendly staff go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome at this homely hotel on a garden square. Each of the 19 rooms takes the name of a river of the world, but the designers haven’t laboured the theme; each is individually furnished in fuss-free, contemporary style. Throughout the hotel there's a funky, bohemian feel with a big focus on representing local artists. All of the rooms, from smaller doubles to suites, come fully equipped with king-sized beds, TVs, coffee machines and generous en-suite bathrooms with walk in showers. The larger front-facing rooms are flooded with light from floor-to-ceilings windows and feature freestanding baths, comfy sofas and sea views. There are also three top-notch spa rooms which come with their own private saunas and whirlpool baths.
Breakfast can be taken either in your room or in one of the downstairs lounges, with a range of options including a full english, homemade granola and eggs royale. For later in the day, there's an intimate cocktail bar with a wide range of drinks on offer. Situated right in the centre of town, you're well placed for exploring all that Brighton has to offer, with the seafront, Royal Pavilion, shopping streets and a host of eating opportunities within easy walking distance.
