Hove Lagoon

Brighton BN3 4LX

Set between the Hove Promenade, with its jaunty row of beach huts, and the main seafront road, Hove Lagoon was built in 1930 and was originally used for model boat races. These days, the larger of its two lakes is mostly used by trainee dinghy sailors and windsurfers – it’s big enough to get a bit of speed up, but small enough for beginners to feel at ease. There’s a café and playground, too.
