Nestled in a pretty valley by the sea, this thatched 13th-century pub has a lovely garden with a stream running through it, and a children’s play area. Inside, it couldn’t be cosier, with wooden beams and real fires. Run by a local brewery, it has a good range of Badger real ales and serves freshly made, unpretentious pub grub, such as steak and Tangelfoot ale pie.
