Crake Trees Manor

Crosby Ravensworth Penrith CA10 3JG 01931 715 205

We say

Ruth and Mike Tuer’s glamorous farmhouse B&B is beautifully set in the rolling Eden Valley countryside, not far from Penrith (and handy for the M6). It’s big on boutique style – slate floors, hand-crafted oak furniture, homemade biccies by the bed, classy Aga-cooked breakfasts – and for real romantics who want to get away from it all there’s also a wonderfully cosy Shepherd’s Hut out in the meadows. Here you can snuggle up in front of the woodburner and star-gaze from the verandah, padding up to the house through the grass to your own shower room, lounge and farmhouse breakfast.

One night wasn't nearly enough! ★★★★★

We stayed here for one night over the Easter weekend. Mike and Ruth were amazing hosts and the whole place was absolutely gorgeous. After a lovely dinner at the Butchers' Arms, we woke up to a beautiful view of rolling hills and then had a delicious home cooked breakfast. I would definitely recommend Crake Tree Manor to anyone that is looking for a real country getaway!

Don't forget the village pub ★★★★★

I love it at Crake Trees Manor, and Ruth can provide supper platters if you don't want to leave in the evening, but definitely walk down at least once to Crosby Ravensworth's village pub, the Butchers' Arms, which is one of the UK's rare community-owned pubs – doing great things with regional beers and locally sourced food.
