The Wharf St Ives TR26 1LP 01736 796 584
A popular haunt with benches spilling out onto the edge of harbour, you’ll be lucky to bag a table here on a sunny afternoon. One of Cornwall’s oldest inns, the doors opened way back in around 1312 so they’ve had plenty of time to get the hang of serving the decent selection of keg and cask ales on tap. Staying true to its roots there’s been no gastro-pub makeover here, but simple pub grub is served in the bar and upstairs in the Captain’s Table restaurant. Wi-fi in the bar. Dogs are welcome.
A lovely old pub. not the biggest but its character is unquestionable. I am a single parent, and stayed in st ives with my three young children and firends. We loved the Sloop in as while I was able to relax with friends over a nice cold beer, the kids were having a great time on the beach litterally 10ft from the pub..... A great place to unwind and relax.
The beach front in St.ives is very well illuminated and such a beautiful place. The kids had a lovely time playing on the beach after we'd eaten our evening meal at one of the numerous restaurants along the front. while us rents enjoyed a very relaxing pint !. It was a real treat to find a place like this. And I woulds highly recommend it to anyone who finds themselves out with the kids after dark... as long as the tides are right :)
