sea-view camping field and enjoy full use of the hostel facilities – there are both tent-only pitches and bell tents for glamping enthusiasts, which include premium options with a cosy wood-burning stove. So, yes it's a hostel, but it's also got a bit of glam following a refurb – in addition to the communal kitchen and lounge there’s an excellent
café-restaurant and ice cream shack with a sprawling sea-view terrace where you can catch live music
sessions throughout the summer. As for the bar – "it rocks more than the cliffs", they promise. Non-residents are welcome – and whether you’re in
for coffee, a sundowner or a full spread of pizzas and delicious share
platters, this is the perfect place to end a day at the beach or a walk along the South West Coast Path. What's more, Padstow is just 4 miles away, Newquay 14 miles and the Eden Project a 45-minute drive, so it's really handy for some of the most exciting bits of Cornwall too.

From the A39 take the A389 towards Padstow then the B3276 to St Merryn. Continue on towards Newquay on the B3276 and take the 3rd road on the right, signed Treyarnon. From Treyarnon beach follow clifftop track and the hostel is on the right-hand side. From Newquay take the B3276 towards Padstow and after Porthcothan follow the hostel signs.
