Brand-new, high-end luxury cottages and lodges just a few minutes' walk from the beach.

Martha's Orchard

Constantine Bay, Cornwall PL28 8JQ 001841520550

We say

Standing on land where there was once an orchard and market garden, these brand-new, self-catering lodges are tailor-made for families and groups wanting to lap up North Cornwall’s beach life. There are seven idyllic bays within easy reach, the closest of which is wave-lashed Constantine, just a short walk away. Hit the surf or the South West Coast Path, tee off on the scenic golf course or cycle the Camel Trail to foodie Padstow, then sink into the hot tub back at your swanky holiday pad; this really is a dose of Kernow-fornia at its best.

More New England in their architectural style and décor, each of the seven lodges is huddled around a sensory garden – and there are also two larger, luxury cottages for bigger groups. Once you’ve thrown your beach gear in the utility room it’s easy to embrace barefoot coastal living and savour the luxury of plump sofas, sumptuous bedrooms, a Jack and Jill family bathroom, walk-in shower room, and a spacious open-plan living and dining area made for group entertaining. Indoor/ outdoor living melds through the bi-fold doors, and while roaming dogs and toddlers are easily hemmed in with the gated (and lockable) decks, older kids can hunker down with board games, smart TVs and Blue-Ray players. Once you’ve raided the welcome bag of Cornish goodies it’s up to you whether you with light the barbecue or cook up a storm in your stylish kitchen; or you might prefer to slip into the hot tub for an aperitif before dinner in one of many gourmet hotspots nearby.

Follow the A39 towards Wadebridge and then turn right onto A389 (signposted Padstow). Follow this road through St Issey and Little Petherick and turn right, still following the A389 to Padstow. Just before Padstow, turn left onto the B3276 Newquay Road and follow this through Windmill, past the signs for Trevone, and take the next right turn, signposted for Harlyn and Mother Ivey’s Bay. Follow this through Harlyn and turn right at the top of the hill, signposted Mother Ivey’s Bay, Carry on until you come to the junction by the Trevose Golf & Country Club and take a right until you see Constantine Bay Stores on your right. Take the next left hand turn onto a narrow lane. The nearest train station is Newquay, 13 miles away, but this is a branch line with a limited service; the nearest mainline station is Bodmin Parkway, which is a little bit further. You can reach Martha’s Orchard by bus from Padstow but it's a limited service – buses stop opposite the  Constantine Bay Stores.
