Food for Thought

4 Town Quay Fowey PL23 1AT 01726 832 221

We say

Don’t be put off by the relatively high prices – Food for Thought is probably the best dining experience to be had in Fowey. Genuinely interesting, generous, friendly and tasty, it has become a bit of an institution over the past 30 years. The building is historic, and situated right on the Quay with a great view, but it’s the food that shines, whether it’s seafood linguine or posh fish and chips. Seafood is fresh in from the day boats in Looe, a few miles down the coast, while meat comes from nearby cornish farms. As well as daily specials the menu is updated weekly, keeping things seasonal and original. They also run a fine takeaway chippy and ice cream stand.

Amazing Service! ★★★★★

My husband and I spent 5 nights of our honeymoon in Fowey and this was by far the best restaurant we visited. The service was excellent, we were made to feel welcome and special, we were given a beautiful table by the window where a glass of champagne was waiting for us on arrival. The food was outstanding, pricey compared to other restaurants but well worth the money. The menu had plenty to offer, lots of locally sourced fish and meat. We would definitely visit again.
