No surprise about the speciality of this side-street store. All 130-plus cheeses –largely classic English varieties plus European favourites – are produced by artisans. You'll also find olives and antipasti, locally produced pork pies and honey, wines and beers, chutneys and preserves, plus fresh soups and ciabatta sandwiches. It goes without saying that this is the first choice to stock up for a picnic. The staff know their stuff and are wonderfully helpful but the real winning feature... having a little taste is all part of the deal and nothing gets the pallet going like a few free chunks of cheese before you take your pick!
