Summer in Bristol is a time for festivals, and the biggest and most popular of all is the Harbourside Festival. Organised by the council, this three-day event centres on the Waterfront and Queen Square, where the main square and food tents are arranged, and celebrates the best of the city’s entertainment. It’s not just a festival of local music; it also includes dance, circus, theatre and plenty of water-based activities with tall ships on the river. Bring a blanket, set up a space on the square and enjoy what is usually an afternoon of sunny entertainment, leading to a night of revelry.
