Eton walks

Eton High Street

Either side of Eton High Street – but not immediately obvious to visitors – are miles of fields owned by the college but partially open to the public. Immediately west of Eton Bridge, down Meadow Lane, lie the Brocas meadows – a good spot for picnics or a towpath stroll. Alternatively, follow the path through the St John the Evangelist churchyard, a little further down the high street, and keep bearing right through the fields on a 45-minute clockwise ramble that finishes at the back of Eton College. Take note of Private signs.
