What makes these hotels unique or unusual in their features?

The most obvious thing is decoration, whether it’s the quirkiness of the guest rooms at The 25 B&B in Devon or the Enchanted Manor on the Isle of Wight. But it could be the building or location that makes a hotel unique, for example at Roch Castle, in Pembrokeshire, Thornbury Castle in Gloucestershire, Burgh Island Hotel in Devon or the hotel at Portmeirion in North Wales.

What is the most quirky hotel in the UK?

On a small scale it has to be Talliston House and Gardens in Essex – which is the vision of owner-cum-storyteller John Tallow, and has rooms decorated to various themes, from the 'Haunted Bedroom' – decorated to represent the bedroom of a Scottish Edwardian child, complete with creepy toys –  to the  'Room of Dreams' which recreates a Moorish bedchamber! On a larger scale, The Rookery, Batty Langley’s and Hazlitt’s are luxurious and historic hotels that successfully recreate the look and feel of Regency London while still offering all the modern amenities you need - and at moderate prices too!
