When the sun is shining there aren't too many places in Britain that come close to the beauty of the Western Isles of Scotland. The region really is a gem, and we've teamed up with Caledonian MacBrayne – or CalMac Ferries as they're universally known – to offer 2 vouchers worth a total of £500 valid for travel anywhere in the Scottish Isles as the two prizes in our latest competition.

CalMac is the lifeblood of the Western Isles, ferrying both tourists and locals back and forth between the islands and the mainland throughout the year. Whether it's the Inner Hebridean islands of Arran or Mull, the stunning Isle of Skye, or the more remote isles of Lewis or Barra, you can be sure that CalMac can take you there. Each island has its own character, from wildlife-rich Rum to whisky-rich Islay, and spending a week or two journeying between them can make for a pretty wonderful trip – especially when all you have to pay for is food and accommodation.

How to Enter

All you have to do is sign up to Cool Places here anytime between noon on Thursday March 3, 2016 and midnight on Friday March 25, 2016, and you will be entered into the competition. It's very easy – all it requires is your name and an email address.  If you do not sign up for Cool Places you will not be entered.

The prizes are 2 CalMac ferry vouchers worth £250 each, which can be used to buy tickets for both passengers and vehicles or food or merchandise on board; they have no expiry date.

The competition closes at midnight on March 25, 2016, after which we’ll pick the two winners at random. Good luck – and please read the T&C's before entering.
