Cardiff may be the home of rugby, Doctor Who and a certain stadium, but over the last few years it has transformed itself into an excitingly modern and unique breeding ground for culture. The colourful graffiti art decorated streets are lined with an array of avant-garde bars, modern restaurants, pop-ups, artisan cafés, vintage markets and mind-bogglingly inspired architecture. It's a perfect blend of the old and the new, and with the Six Nations in full swing, Cardiff couldn't be shining any brighter right now.

The Prize

YHA are giving you and a friend the chance to win two-nights at the brand spanking new YHA Cardiff Central in one of their beautifully stylish and comfortable premium double rooms. The newly opened hostel is in an enviable position: slap bang in the centre of Cardiff – within walking distance away from the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff Castle, transport links to Cardiff Bay and the Wales Coastal Path.

We've also teamed up with the lovely folks behind Planet Wales City Safari to give you an exclusive day tour of Cardiff's rich diversity of coastline, ancient woodlands, parks and nature reserves. The tour will show you the parts of Cardiff nobody knows about, whilst also filling you in on Cardiff's heritage and history. You'll get to climb Cardiff's only mountain, the Garth, and meet the animals who live in the Bristol Estuary.

The total prize which needs to be taken May 9th-10th 2015, consists of:

  • Two nights stay in a premium double room at YHA Cardiff Central
  • Breakfast each morning of your stay
  • One evening meal for two
  • Free wifi during your stay
  • One day safari tour of Cardiff for two people courtesy of Planet Wales City Safari
