Conquer this frosty weather by packing up for the weekend and snuggling up to either someone you love, or a pillow at one of these best places to stay to beat the winter blues:

Aviemore Glamping

It's not quite camping weather yet, but you can still get the experience at Aviemore in their quirky hobbit-like pods. They're slap bang in the Cairngorms National Park, so you're spoilt for choice with nearby winter sports.

Brimstone Hotel

If there's ever a place you want to cosy up in, it's Brimstone. Pure decadence in droves, including some of the biggest bath tubs ever seen, plus it's slap bang in the Lakes, aka the land of pubs with roaring fires and low beams.

Clachaig Inn

You could tackle the nearby famous peaks of Glencoe and witness some jaw-dropping scenery; or you could just stay by the fire with a pint of real ale and imagine it instead.

Hawke's Point

Who says the beach is best in summer?  With the sea views you get from your room at Hawke's Point, any time of year is a good time to head to the beach - and Carbis Bay is a corker.

Low Mill Guesthouse

If you're a fan of low beams and rural-glam decor then Low Mill is a must visit this year.  The rooms are fashioned from an 18th-century watermill and come with roaring fires, copper baths, and some pretty 'out there' art.
