Pubs with Camping

It's looking like July is already set to be a scorcher.  So if you're camping, it would be wise to make sure you're not pitched too far from a good pub. Luckily, Britain has its fair share of pubs of them. But in case you'd prefer to have one on your doorstep, here's our round-up of our favourite pubs with campsites in Britain.

The Pigs Nose Inn, Devon

Set in the most southerly and scenic point of Devon, this lively bar is a popular haunt for the locals and often has a great assortment of live music and other happenings.  The campsite is pretty basic, but there are shower and toilet facilities available.

The Three Golden Cups, Vale of Glamorgan

If you like a pint and you like to surf then this could be the pub for you.  Not only does it overlook the sensational Glamorgan Coastal Path, but you're also only a short walk from the beautiful Dunraven Bay – home to some great waves and the Southerndown Surf School.  The basic campsite has showers and toilets, plus the pub serves great food.

Waveney River Centre, Norfolk

More of an all inclusive holiday package than your average pub campsite, but that's OK with us.  Whilst the onsite pub serves great food, it's the camping by the river that's the real treat here.  It's also set in the Broads, so there's plenty of nearby water-borne activities, walks and cycle routes on offer.

The Royal Oak, Peak District

If you're looking for a great base to explore the Peak District, then The Royal Oak should be at the top of your list.  The pub itself serves great, hearty pub grub with dishes like cured wild boar and game pie.  Whereas the campsite offers both pitches and bunk barns; and there are hot showers and toilets available.

The Quiet Site, Lake District

Not only is it widely known for having one of the best onsite pubs around, the Quiet Site is also a strong contender for being one of the best campsites around.  You can take your pick from either conventional tent camping or the snug timber pods on offer.  But predominately, it's a popular place for caravans & motorhomes.

Wasdale Head Inn

Celebrated as the birthplace of British climbing, Wasdale Head Inn is still a real draw for mountaineers and hardcore walkers, and also offers a taster of the rugged country hereabouts for more casual visitors. The camping available is as picturesque as pub campsites can get, with epic views of the peaks behind you.

Sango Sands

This part of Scotland is as desolate and ruggedly beautiful as can be. The campsite rests on the edge of the most northerly point of Scotland, so the views from your pitch are bound to be nothing short of spectacular.  Just be warned, the weather here can get pretty ferocious, so if you are camping, check the weather first.

Alde Garden

More than just a pub with a few pitches alongside it, Alde Garden offers a taste of everything, from yurts to bell tents and gypsy caravans, so needless to say, the facilities are above par.  The welcoming onsite pub serves great local food and they've teamed up with Suffolk Providore to provide you with the best local produce during your stay.

The Goat Inn

This good old-fashioned country pub not only serves a loyal clientele with excellent local ales and hearty pub grub in a wonderfully rural location just south of Aylsham on the edge of the Broads in Norfolk, but it also runs a year-round campsite in a large back field, with up to twenty pitches for tents and 5 for caravans. It's a fairly basic site to be honest, but it's not the facilities you come for, and in any case it's got everything you need – a separate shower and toilet block, fresh drinking water and a barbecue for campers' use.
